WIA Conf Speakers You Don’t Want to Miss

The Women in Analytics Conference confirmed speakers and workshops are next-level. Our keynote speakers include Dr. Feryal Ozel, Professor of Astronomy and Astrophysics at the University of Arizona, and Jenny Bryan, Software Engineer and Data Scientist at RStudio.

Dr. Feryal Ozel, a prominent member of the team responsible for the first image of a black hole, has made pioneering contributions to the physics of neutron stars and black holes, as well as to the co-evolution of black holes and galaxies in the early Universe. Based on her work on accretion flows, she made the first size predictions of the images of nearby supermassive black holes at different wavelengths. This is one keynote you won’t want to miss.

Jenny Bryan is a Software Engineer and Data Scientist at RStudio and an Adjunct Professor of Statistics at the University of British Columbia with a Ph.D. in Biostatistics from the University of California, Berkeley. She works on a team that develops open-source R packages to democratize data science, making it faster, easier, and more fun.

Add on an Expert-Led Workshop

Two days of content not enough? Add on one of our five expert-led workshops hosted on June 3!

The first workshop on the docket is a 6-hour Data Storytelling Masterclass led by Lea Pica, Founder of, an Analytics Presentation & Data Visualization Consultancy. Modern marketers thrive on making data-driven decisions, but how can they use that data to tell stories to their consumers that encourage them to make purchases and trust the brand?

Lea is a seasoned digital analytics practitioner, social media marketer, and blogger with over 11 years of experience building search marketing and digital analytics practices for companies like Scholastic, Victoria’s Secret, and Prudential. You’ll leave her masterclass with practical, real-world applications of digital data storytelling and takeaways that you can apply that day!
