Women in Analytics was originally founded to bring visibility to people that are underrepresented in the influential field of data and analytics. We have focused on bringing awareness to the systemic biases and acts of discrimination enabled by data and algorithms. Data captured from a historically unbalanced system continues to be used to perpetuate discrimination.
Over the last two weeks, we are reminded of the continuous acts of racial violence. We must recognize the experiences of the black community, stand with them in solidarity, and continuously take action. We encourage those who support our community and mission to bring visibility to BIPOC voices and work together against racism and discrimination.
